The folks at Fisher Scientific had a second party two days after their pool party that I DJed. This time it was held in one of the ballrooms of The Peabody Orlando.
The start time was scheduled for 10:00pm, but their awards dinner went a little longer than expected, so they ended up making it in to the party room where I was setup at about 11:20pm.
I setup ten LED up lights against the back wall in red. I also brought out four premium speakers to have enough sound for this size corporate event.
There were eight bars and bartenders ready to serve beer and wine when everyone arrived. About 1,200 showed up for the party and when they came in it was an all out dance party until 1am.
The dance floor was packed all the way to the last song. Most of the requests were for Top 40 with a few folks asking for 80s rock.
One of the hotel managers came up to me and said “you’re stopping at 1am, right?” I said “yes”, and when I played the last song and it was finished, everyone started chanting “one more song! One more song!” Of course I had to throw on one more!
They had an absolute blast and so did I. It reminded me of playing big nightclubs and live radio shows.
